About Me

I was born and raised in Midland TX and couldn't wait to get out. After getting a taste of the big city life I ended up back in my home town. I married my wonderful husband Eric in March of 2006 and come September 11th our little Angel Cole was born. Life changed in an instant and I couldn't imagine life with out my boys. Eric is the most amazing father, my rock and ever quiet support and Cole is the joy of my life.I never knew that one person could bring so much unconditional love. They make me who I am today and because of that I am forever grateful

Better Late Than Never

Hi, I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas. It has been a very long time since I have been able to update this. My husband has been gone for two weeks working and took the computer with him. Obsessed much?! J No not really I can’t blame him. Let’s just say I am glad it was him and not me. My husband amazes me and I am so blessed to have him. Christmas was great except for Eric not being home. It was a little different but we made it through and were able to go visit him a couple of times. He finally got to come home Sunday night and let’s just say we were pretty darn excited. We decided to do our gifts we got for Cole until he got home so needless to say Santa came late and mysteriously while Cole was in his room playing. Our big gift to him was a Fur Real Pony and let me just say that pony does look pretty darn real and we are so funny we talk to it like is real. At first Cole didn’t know what to think but now we can’t get him off it. The horse’s name is Smores. We took pictures but have not uploaded him. Christmas Pictures to follow. Something else I have to share because I am so excited. My hubby surprised me and announced he is taking me to Hawaii for our anniversary.

By the way my New Year resolution is to get organized and be better about updating my blog J If it wasn’t for my sister in laws and my brother Chad I would never have pictures. Thanks to all of you!!!

1 Corinthians 13:13

With Christmas around the corner, I thought it would be nice to share the following poem I received in my daily devotional. This is 1 Corinthians 13:13 which happens to be one of my favorite bible verses however this time it’s done Christmas Style.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."
1 Corinthians 13:13 (NIV)

1 Corinthians 13 Christmas Style ©By Sharon Jaynes

If I decorate my house perfectly with lovely plaid bows, strands of twinkling lights, and shiny glass balls, but do not show love to my family - I'm just another decorator.

If I slave away in the kitchen, baking dozens of Christmas cookies, preparing gourmet meals, and arranging a beautifully adorned table at mealtime, but do not show love to my family - I'm just another cook.

If I work at the soup kitchen, carol in the nursing home, and give all that I have to charity, but do not show love to my family - It profits me nothing.

If I trim the spruce with shimmering angels and crocheted snowflakes, attend a myriad of holiday parties, and sing in the choir's cantata but do not focus on Christ, I have missed the point.

Love stops the cooking to hug the child.

Love sets aside the decorating to kiss the husband.

Love is kind, though harried and tired.

Love doesn't envy another home that has coordinated Christmas china and table linens.
Love doesn't yell at the kids to get out of the way.

Love doesn't give only to those who are able to give in return, but rejoices in giving to those who can't.

Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things.

Love never fails. Video games will break; pearl necklaces will be lost; golf clubs will rust. But giving the gift of love will endure.

Where does he learn this stuff?

So we always like to play this little game with Cole where we get up in Eric's lap & Cole will say "he is my daddy and then I say no he is my daddy". Well we kept going back and forth and I guess Cole had enough of our little game and it looks up at me and he says "your killin me mommy". Eric then asked him where did you learn that from and he say my mommy. Out of the mouths of babes.

Tackle Me

So Eric being the sports fanatic that he is already teaching Cole how to play football and baseball. I love this as it's great bonding time for Cole & Daddy. The only downfall is they play in the house. Well since Eric has already taught Cole to tackle-Cole just thinks it's great fun!! So Cole picks up his football runs with it in his little arms and yells "Tackle me Daddy" then proceeds to throw the ball and it nails Eric right in the back of the head. I am trying so hard not to laugh because we don't want him to think this is acceptable but you gotta admit watching Eric get nailed in the head by a two year old is pretty darn funny. Well then comes the disciplining and having to remind Cole not to throw balls in the house. All is fun and games until somebody gets hurt.

My Christmas Mommy

So Cole is starting to catch on that Christmas is around the corner. We are driving through downtown last night and he can see all the wreaths and he say's with excitement in his voice, It's Christmas!! Well this morning I get the tree all put up and he is running around the house saying It's my Christmas. He picks up an ornament that had fallen to ground and says uh oh my Christmas. So for now he thinks Christmas is his as if it's an object. Maybe next year he will understand that Christmas is about the birth of Jesus, but for now it's kinda cute and we will just let him think that it's his Christmas.

Santa Clause Scare

With Christmas in the air we thought it would be fun to take the kids to Museum of Southwest for their annual Christmas at the Mansion. We walk through and look at all the beautifully decorated Christmas Trees and then low and behold we turn the corner and there is good ole St. Nick . Who by the way Cole is terrified of!!! . He is so scared he is shaking and clinging to Eric so tightly I had to peel him off. My poor baby. I wonder if he will ever grow out this. So I am pretty sure we won't be taking any pictures with Santa this year..

We did get a couple of my niece Kindall and my nephew Caden

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is around the corner. I just have to say I could not be more thankful and more blessed for all that God has given my family.

I received this in an email and thought it was too good not to share

Thanksgiving….is a day for family, food, parades and football. A day to give thanks for all our blessings. This year as you give thanks remember those not at home with family; those in dangerous places; those who help and comfort; those families that watch and pray. We have so much to be thankful for.

Another cute moment

So those of you who know my husband know that Cole looks like Eric spit him out. I begin to wonder if I had any part in the making of that child. I mean I did carry him for 9 months. Well we have decided that he did get one thing from me besides the blonde hair. He is a chatter box. I really don’t ever think he is not talking and he repeats everything you say. What can I say he comes by it honestly. So this morning he decides he wants to share his breakfast with our Maltese Elvis. I look it him and say Cole you are so sweet for sharing your breakfast he then runs over to Eric and says with his excitement in his voice. Daddy I sooo sweet!!! Just another cute moment I had to share with you all.

Uppercase Living

Okay so I have new obsession for something to spice your home up in a really creative way. If you don’t know about it you need to look into. It is called Uppercase Living. They are basically quotes you can design or already designed quotes you can put up on your walls but the cool thing is it’s not just a pictures it’s just the lettering itself. I found out this weekend that Steinmart & Kohl’s sells their version so I got a couple just to try it out, one for Cole’s room and one for above our desk. I am obsessed now!! They just add the neatest touch to your home. I may be the last one to know about this but I just had to share. Another cool thing is you can sale the products too. All the info is on the website. The web address is www.uppercaseliving.com.

So I just have to post this because I think it's just so darn sweet!! My little pumpkin is laying in bed with us this morning and he looks me straight in the eye, then grabs my face, looks at me with the sweetest smile and then puckers up and gives me a big ole kiss. Then proceeds to turn over and say Daddy wake up!!! so he can give him his good morning kiss too. Man do these baby boys have your heart strings!!

Updating my blog

So my sister-in-law is my blog monitor because I am horrible about starting things like these and never updating them. Part of my problem is I don't #1 have time, #2 I sit in front of a computer all week at work and #3 my sweet little angel has turned 2. Let me tell you he gives terrible two's a whole new meaning. As matter of fact in the midst of trying to post this he thought it would be hilarious to push the off button on the computer. Then after waiting for it to load back up he continues to push every button on the keyboard. This is the very reason this blog does not get updated except for once every month. I did manage however to get a whole minute of typing in but only because we bribed him into watching Happy Feet. Well that's it for this moment. Stay tuned...I can only imagine what it will be like when I have two kids :)

So our littleman dressed up like superman for Halloween. We took him to Golf Course Church of Christ for the Truck or Treat. The minute we walk in the door we see a lady with her faced painted like a pumpkin and cole freaks out. So naturally the whole time He was clinging to me like white on rice. He has now decided that he can fly because of the whole cape thing and keeps telling Eric and I look I can fly you wanna fly with me and the proceeds to project himself off the ottoman. Yep and there goes my heart in my stomach. Little boys will be little boys

To all you readers

For those of you who liked to read, you need to go out an get 90 minutes in Heaven. I just started reading this book and can't put it down-well actually I have to put it down because I have a two year old who of course needs his mommies attention and my husband as been stuck out on rig since Monday and we are READY for him to come home!! But anyways when I finally get that small moment in time, I can't book the book down. It is about a guy who gets in a car accident and his story of his encounter of his 90 minutes in Heaven. It will get you chils when you read it.

Eric Birthday Suprise

Eric's Birthday was this past weekend I surprised him with tickets to see the Dallas Cowboys. He was on cloud 9 the whole weekend. We had such a blast but the weekend went by entirely too fast. Eric thought it would be funny to get a big huge star painted in the middle of his face. We sent the picture for Cole to see and he didn't think it was so funny. He kept telling my sister-in-law "Daddy Scare Me. " I am interested to see how he does on Halloween
By the way I thought I should let you all know my husband has a man crush on Tony Romo. Pictures to follow soon.
