About Me

I was born and raised in Midland TX and couldn't wait to get out. After getting a taste of the big city life I ended up back in my home town. I married my wonderful husband Eric in March of 2006 and come September 11th our little Angel Cole was born. Life changed in an instant and I couldn't imagine life with out my boys. Eric is the most amazing father, my rock and ever quiet support and Cole is the joy of my life.I never knew that one person could bring so much unconditional love. They make me who I am today and because of that I am forever grateful

Better Late Than Never

Hi, I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas. It has been a very long time since I have been able to update this. My husband has been gone for two weeks working and took the computer with him. Obsessed much?! J No not really I can’t blame him. Let’s just say I am glad it was him and not me. My husband amazes me and I am so blessed to have him. Christmas was great except for Eric not being home. It was a little different but we made it through and were able to go visit him a couple of times. He finally got to come home Sunday night and let’s just say we were pretty darn excited. We decided to do our gifts we got for Cole until he got home so needless to say Santa came late and mysteriously while Cole was in his room playing. Our big gift to him was a Fur Real Pony and let me just say that pony does look pretty darn real and we are so funny we talk to it like is real. At first Cole didn’t know what to think but now we can’t get him off it. The horse’s name is Smores. We took pictures but have not uploaded him. Christmas Pictures to follow. Something else I have to share because I am so excited. My hubby surprised me and announced he is taking me to Hawaii for our anniversary.

By the way my New Year resolution is to get organized and be better about updating my blog J If it wasn’t for my sister in laws and my brother Chad I would never have pictures. Thanks to all of you!!!

1 Corinthians 13:13

With Christmas around the corner, I thought it would be nice to share the following poem I received in my daily devotional. This is 1 Corinthians 13:13 which happens to be one of my favorite bible verses however this time it’s done Christmas Style.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."
1 Corinthians 13:13 (NIV)

1 Corinthians 13 Christmas Style ©By Sharon Jaynes

If I decorate my house perfectly with lovely plaid bows, strands of twinkling lights, and shiny glass balls, but do not show love to my family - I'm just another decorator.

If I slave away in the kitchen, baking dozens of Christmas cookies, preparing gourmet meals, and arranging a beautifully adorned table at mealtime, but do not show love to my family - I'm just another cook.

If I work at the soup kitchen, carol in the nursing home, and give all that I have to charity, but do not show love to my family - It profits me nothing.

If I trim the spruce with shimmering angels and crocheted snowflakes, attend a myriad of holiday parties, and sing in the choir's cantata but do not focus on Christ, I have missed the point.

Love stops the cooking to hug the child.

Love sets aside the decorating to kiss the husband.

Love is kind, though harried and tired.

Love doesn't envy another home that has coordinated Christmas china and table linens.
Love doesn't yell at the kids to get out of the way.

Love doesn't give only to those who are able to give in return, but rejoices in giving to those who can't.

Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things.

Love never fails. Video games will break; pearl necklaces will be lost; golf clubs will rust. But giving the gift of love will endure.

Where does he learn this stuff?

So we always like to play this little game with Cole where we get up in Eric's lap & Cole will say "he is my daddy and then I say no he is my daddy". Well we kept going back and forth and I guess Cole had enough of our little game and it looks up at me and he says "your killin me mommy". Eric then asked him where did you learn that from and he say my mommy. Out of the mouths of babes.

Tackle Me

So Eric being the sports fanatic that he is already teaching Cole how to play football and baseball. I love this as it's great bonding time for Cole & Daddy. The only downfall is they play in the house. Well since Eric has already taught Cole to tackle-Cole just thinks it's great fun!! So Cole picks up his football runs with it in his little arms and yells "Tackle me Daddy" then proceeds to throw the ball and it nails Eric right in the back of the head. I am trying so hard not to laugh because we don't want him to think this is acceptable but you gotta admit watching Eric get nailed in the head by a two year old is pretty darn funny. Well then comes the disciplining and having to remind Cole not to throw balls in the house. All is fun and games until somebody gets hurt.
