About Me

I was born and raised in Midland TX and couldn't wait to get out. After getting a taste of the big city life I ended up back in my home town. I married my wonderful husband Eric in March of 2006 and come September 11th our little Angel Cole was born. Life changed in an instant and I couldn't imagine life with out my boys. Eric is the most amazing father, my rock and ever quiet support and Cole is the joy of my life.I never knew that one person could bring so much unconditional love. They make me who I am today and because of that I am forever grateful

Weekend Getaway

Well I have been pretty busy lately and feel like I haven’t update my blog in centuries. Okay so I have a little confession to make. I was recently introduced to the Twilight Saga (yes I know it came out years ago but…) so when I am not at work or taking care of Cole I am reading. I have one more book to go and then I will have my life back. That being said, the weekend before last my brother & I escaped Midland and braved taking all three kids to Canyon Lake to see my best friend Kati her husband and some other friends. We had such an amazing time and as always it was more than wonderful to get to see Kati. I miss her more than anything and its hard being away from your best friend especially 8 hours (she lives in Houston). Here are a few pics from our weekend get away, okay more than a few but I figured I would make up for not updating in a while. The water was a little low from that area not getting much rain lately but that didn’t stop us from having a blast.

Fourth of July Fun

Our Fourth of July weekend was a blast despite having to stay in town. Staycations are our new thing and we make the best of them. Friday we celebrated my uncle George’s bday then Saturday I was up early getting ready to make our “Red, White and Balls” package for Shandi. I have to toot our horn because they were delicious and we got great feedback from the family. We headed over to Eric’s aunt to swim and we had so much fun. The boys all got this bright idea to have their own version of the Japanese game show & after a little coercing us girls even joined in. I wish I had pictures to share because it’s much funnier to see than to hear about. After lots of fun in the sun the clouds came and it was time to head over to Becky & Jarred’s for a BBQ. Her sister Jennifer brought her little boys Brock & Hudson over and they all had so much fun. I think Cole had some new best friends. Our friends Brandy and Andy brought sparklers over & the boys just loved them (so did the adults). We ended the night watching fireworks on the roof. I couldn’t have asked for a better weekend with great friends & family. Here are a few pics

New Business Venture

I thought I would let everyone know about my new business venture I decided to embark on with my bestie Becky. She approached with me an idea of making desserts, breakfast and appetizers all in the shape of balls. At first I was hesitant to say yes because all of those who know me know that I am not one to do a lot of cooking and have always told myself I can't well then I realized until you try something how are ever going to know if it will work out. So I said yes and I am so glad I did. Plus I figured considering our financial situation right now it wouldn't hurt to make a little extra side money. So I said yes and am so glad I did because we had our first gig last Sunday and have two more that have been booked for this week and next week. We definitely realize this is all a work in progress and we can only get better but everyone starts out some where. So I present to you our name and website "Having a Ball" at www.gohaveaball.net /. I also have blog started to keep track of our events http://www.gohaveaball.blogspot.com/. Thank you to Terri and Brandi for support and for hooking us up with our first event. We are so grateful!!

I dream of Jesus

In honor of Father's day I decided we would devote not just Sunday but the whole weekend to Eric. He is such amazing father and deserves more than I could probably ever describe with words. I decided to let him sleep in this morning & get up and make him breakfast. Well he woke up & thank goodness he finally had a good nights sleep as I don't think he has been sleeping well considering all that has gone on with us. My little pumpkin was still asleep and we finally decided at 9:00 to wake him up(By the way I am loving this new sleeping in thing, as usually Cole wakes up at 7 or 7:30). Now to the part and reason for writing this post. We sit down to eat breakfast and we start to eat and Cole says WAIT-we need to say Grace mommy, which I am so thankful for his reminding because I know sometimes we get in a hurry and forget, which makes me sad thinking we should never been in too big of hurry that we forget to remember the good Lord above who has provided and blessed our family with so much. Now for the best part, Eric was discussing how he was dreaming & then Cole pipes in & says I was dreaming too Daddy and I ask him what were you dreaming about and with the biggest grin on his face he says "I was dreaming about Jesus. " My heart just melted with joy!! We have been teaching Cole about saying prayers and about Jesus and it just give me such joy in knowing that at such an early age he recognizes who he is and that we need to remember to give thanks to him. My hope has a mother is that I will continue to instill Christian values in his life and that as he grows older he will be a " Man after God's own heart." That in successful relationships and especially within a family that God should be at the center & To remember that when life gets tough and you are faced with trials to remember to have Faith & Hope in our Father God as he has a plan for all of us and he is with us every step of the way.To always remember that God should be the most important Man in his life then Eric.

The father of one
who is right with God
will have much joy.
He who has a wise son
will be glad in him."
(Proverbs 23:24, )

Happy Father's Day to my heavenly Father, my dad, to my father-in-law and to my wonderful husband Eric!! We love you!!

Overnight Guest

This past weekend we watched my niece Keira for this first time overnight while Shandi and Kody when out of town. We decided to have my to other niece Kindall and my nephew Caden over to play as Cole loves to get to hang out with his cousins. I took a couple of pics I just had to share. You might begin to wonder if my son ever wears clothes as you will see in the pics except for 1 he in his diaper or naked. We have decided that soon enough he will get over this exhibitionist stage, until then we are not going to fight him any longer trying to get him to keep his clothes on. The kids had so much fun-call me crazy having twins might not be so bad.
